INFORMATION Lot No. SC11953 14.25oz. DENIM JACKET 1953 MODEL デニムジャケットが労働着からカジュアルウエアとなる過渡期の1953年モデル。
通称、2nd（セカンド）。
1950年代を代表する名作で、エルヴィス・プレスリーが着用していたことでも知られている。
ディテール共通でブラックデニムを使用したモデル（Lot No. SC14601）とブラウンダックを使用したモデル（Lot No. SC14602）も展開。
Lot No. SC14601 / 13oz. BLACK DENIM JACKET 1953 MODEL Lot No. SC14602 / 13oz. BROWN DUCK JACKET 1953 MODEL STANDARD DENIM（スタンダードデニム） 紡績、染色、織り、縫製の全工程にこだわってヴィンテージデニムを再現した結果、 多くの人々に長年愛用され、定番として作り続けられる名作。
これこそが真の“STANDARD”である。
ディテール詳細 前身頃はアクションプリーツ＋ボックスステッチ。
ニッケルカラーの鉄製ボタンを使用。
レザーパッチの上部にはサイズタグが挟まれる。
袖口のあき止まりはリベットで補強。

This is the 1953 model, widely known as the 2nd type. Made in a transitional period when denim jacket was changed from merely one of work wears to casual wear in US. A masterpiece of the 1950s. STANDARD DENIM Sugar Cane has studied and paid the closest attention to the entire process of recreating vintage denim, such as spinning, weaving, dyeing and stitching. Accordingly, our denim products have been loved and appreciated by many people across the world for a long period of time, establishing their status as timeless classic pieces. This is what we call a true “STANDARD.” ABOUT SUGAR CANE（シュガーケーン） 「サトウキビ」という名を持ついかにもアメリカ的なこのブランドこそ、日本に誕生した初めての米国向け衣料メーカーである。
シュガーケーンの生みの親であるTOYO ENTERPRISE COMPANY LTD.（東洋エンタープライズ株式会社）は1965年、米軍によるベトナム戦争への本格的介入を機に、日本の米軍基地関係者を対象として設立された。
当初は米軍向けの衣料製造と共に国内への米軍サープラスの流通窓口としての展開も行い、ベトナム戦争が1975年に終結すると完全な国内向けの衣料メーカーへと転身。
その際、米軍基地に駐屯していた将校によって「SUGARCANE」と名付けられる。
シュガーケーンの誕生は日本でありながら、米軍基地を相手に育っただけにその精神も物作りのノウハウもアメリカ仕込み。
当時から現在に至るまで、アメリカンスタイルのシンボルとも言えるデニム素材を中心とした本場仕込みのワークウエアを作り続けている。
SUGAR CANE. As you can tell from its name with such an American influence, this brand is the very first clothing label out of Japan for the American market. In 1965 when the U.S. Army properly intervened in the Vietnam War, Toyo Enterprises, the creator of Sugar Cane, was established for those involved with U.S. military bases in Japan. At that time, the company was a supplier for American soldiers in Japan and in charge of whole distribution for military surplus throughout Japan. When the Vietnam War ended in 1975, the company made a fresh start as an apparel maker for domestic market and that’s when the brand name “Sugar Cane” was given by the officer who was stationed at the Army base. Although Sugar Cane was born in Japan, its spirit and creation are true to proper American manner from the experience learned at the Army base.
